"Do what you please, follow your own star, be original if you want to be and don't if you don't want to be. Just be natural and light-hearted and pretty and simple and over flowing and general and baroque and bare and austere and stylised and wild and daring and conservative and learn and learn and learn. Open your mind to every form of beauty."

Join Twisted Sisters and Moss & Stone for an exciting and indulgent two day workshop which sees us returning to the stunning and historic venue, Broadfield. Set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside this workshop will be held within the house, grounds and stunningly beautiful and textured outbuildings using an abundance of the very best seasonal flowers and foliage from the Twisted Sisters Flower Farm. You will be encouraged to explore and think outside the box whilst going big, loose and wild with your creations!

The workshop aims to be intensive whilst the relaxed, friendly and inspiring atmosphere and environment will allow you to work at your own pace. It is designed in such a way that you will get the most out of your time spent with us. You will get the opportunity to create a number of installation pieces and learn new techniques without the use of floral foam.

Aimed at anyone with an interest in floral design, from beginners to experienced florists, stylists to event planners and designers everyone is welcome, even if you just want a couple of days away creating. Matt, our chosen professional photographer will be in attendance throughout the workshop. Wherever you feel you fit into this picture, help will be on hand and additionally we advocate open discussions in order to get the most from the workshop.

An elaborate tablescape and hanging installation using an abundance of seasonal blooms is on the itinerary for today. You will gather inspiration, consider design and styling elements and together create a sumptuous dining table and setting fit enough for any King (or Queen). If time allows, you will be introduced to some floral accessories as well as eco-friendly arrangement mechanisms to create with, to be incorporated into the following days large ‘Birds of a Feather’ installation.

Matt will capture all of your pieces and these images will be sent to you for use after the workshop.

During day one we will collectively discuss different options ready for the day two installation.

Today, as a group, the creative juices will be flowing as we build and create a spectacular large scale ‘Birds of a Feather’ installation incorporating a number of props and accessories bringing just a touch of surrealism to proceedings. Encouraged to think outside the box, this is sure to be a fun and quirky but fabulous statement of creativity.

Relatively new to floristry Melissa has enjoyed learning and gaining different skills and styles of floristry from many respected and established creatives in the industry. From Katie at Ponderosa and Thyme to Soil and Stem, Jay Archer, Kiana Underwood(Tulipina), (and more!).

Melissa hails from a design background exhibiting at prestigious venues such as Somerset House and Southwark Cathedral (London). She likes to think outside the box, loves a challenge and is known to push the boundaries on any brief that she is given.

Inspired and intrigued by nature Melissa will quite often explore a more unusual or off beat avenue in her creations. She loves nothing more than (chocolate!) quirky elements and textures in her work.

She has never used floral foam in her own creations and is always thinking and researching different foam free ways to create.

Brigitte's floral story began about ten years ago when she trained as a florist. Since then she has been lucky enough to work and learn from some of the flower world’s best designers as a freelance florist.

Realising the importance of ongoing personal growth Brigitte continues to seek out and be invigorated by workshops and classes run by internationally recognised designers, which then inspires and informs her own work.

Brigitte is inspired and nurtured by the fresh awakenings of each changing season drawing on the traditions of English gardens and the wild beauty of the Suffolk countryside around her. Preferring to use flowers and foliage naturally available at their peak of perfection maintains an honesty and enchantment for herself and her clients.

I am the worker (and comedian) of the Twisted Sisters outfit, or that is what I keep telling everyone!!

After retiring and settling the family in Herefordshire, I found my new calling in life, in the middle of a field, on my own, covered in mud, after having the bright idea of setting up a flower farm, on our little piece of England. #simples 😳

For the two day workshop, expect copious amounts of delightful dahlias, amazing amaranth,  zingy zinnias, stunning sunflowers to name a few.

Photographically Matt enjoys capturing people, unique moments in time, shadow, light and colour, creating a lasting final document and preserving a memory. He likes to show the more subtle elements of life, preferring a less conventional composition that captures the emotion, honesty an humour in a given moment in time.

Matt caught our eye with his clean, slightly different view at life through the lens. Here at Twisted Sisters we very much champion out of the ordinary and those artists who are prepared to blur the lines from what is considered 'normal'. We feel that Matt will bring style and an edge to the workshop images.

Matt will be available throughout the 2 day workshop to capture you and your creations.

Nestled in the stunning Herefordshire countryside, Broadfield is a historic country house and wedding events venue set in beautiful gardens and grounds. Parts of  the house date back to the 14th century, with current renovations set to combine its heritage and history with carefully chosen elegant, modern touches.

The grounds at Broadfield provide an incredible back drop for workshops, with many different spaces to work from, including the David Austin rose garden, the walled kitchen garden, sweeping lawns, magical woods and numerous courtyard and outbuildings. Just 20 minutes from the city of Hereford, Broadfield's tranquility and beauty is inspiring.

Our chosen venue oozes character and charm, its age gives plenty of texture, in-fact we think it is perfect for a floral backdrop.
